I think most people would call me a nerd and I love to read and write so I hope this helps you. I love english class!
To do well in English class
1. take notes whenever your teacher is talking and not just when they tell you to. (Teachers often say useful things while talking to the class and you can go on and use this in essay or assignment. )
2. Organise your notes, sheets and work so that you can find things easily when studying for your exams,
3. Try to enjoy the work you are doing in class and dont spend the class talking to your friends because: when your teacher gives you work to do or homework it will be based on things you were suppose to learn during class. If you listen in class your homework will be easily and you will have more time to do fun things.
4. Submit all your work to your teacher on time and do all work given to you so that you dont fall behind.
5. If you are studying a novel or play borrow a study guide from the library, buy a study guide ( they are not expensive ) or go to these websites:
Read, read, read! Also, if you hear someone, like your teacher for example, use a word that sounds interesting, write it down, find out the meaning, and learn it for those essays that often crop up in tests. Also, whatever novel/play you're studying, find websites online that go into detail about the themes, etc of the story.
the 3 golden rules to language - read it, speak it, listen to it. so read atleast a book a week. it can be a romance or even archie comics, but read! dont be afraid to speak english. if u make a mistake, someone will correct you. and you will learn. watch a lot of english movies and TV programmes. it will help you get used to the different accents, and also help you learn contemporary lingo.

Suck up to the teacher,
ask question,
listen,
do your homework,
smile,
pay attention,
and for goodness sakes, help the old lady with her books.
