I have a 1979 Datsun 280 ZX and Im having fuel problems with the car. I believe its burning rich, but the car is fuel injected. I've read the manual and it say it might be a clogged air filter, but i have it running with no filter for the time being, then it said the fuel pump might be default, but i changed it and nothing. black smoke shoots out the exhaust( especially when you over rev the car, a big gust of black smoke shoots out), the car burns about two gallons just to go about 10 miles, i've check the plugs and all the plugs look like if they're all carbonated, i hear all the injectors working, i tried fiddling with the idle, but when you open the idle, all you hear is more sucktion of air, when you turn it down, it boggles, and the car hella boggles when trying to drive or at a red light. I need help fast if anyone knows whats the problem is what what to do to fix it. Please help. thanx.

fuel pressure regulator, either you are getting no vaccuum to it (check 1st), it is ported vaccuum, so amount varies with RPM's; or the dashpot on the fuel pressure regulator is bad itself.
Good Luck
check the fuel pressure , i have seen a number of them stick closed causing high pressure and a overly rich condition. fuel pressure shouldnt be more than 40 psi.
sounds like the carb or fuel regulator. way rich.
