i believe the years the corolla gt-s's that were rear wheel drive where from 1983-1987, the years 1988 and above had front wheel drive including the 1988-1991 corolla gt-s's

HunterJumper is actually right, the older Corolla's have the straight motor and they're RWD. The newer (88- 91 models) have the sideways motor and they're FWD.

I'm pretty sure its RWD! You can look at the motor to, if its like "straight", or "sideways"... If you don't wanna get under your car.
