2 Broken legs? Surgical/recovery procedure?
A girl in my story is in a serious car accident and breaks both of her legs directly in half.
What would the surgery be like?
Would they have to reset her bones and would she be awake for it?
Would she be screaming in pain?
How long would she be in a wheelchair?
How long until she'd be able to walk again without crutches/brace

She would probably have pins inserted to keep the bones together.
She would not be awake for a procedure.
People I know who have broken a leg claim it hurts like HELL as soon as you brake it. However once you get to the hospital you forget about it, it's numb. However I think her case would be different.
She would be given a good dosage of pain killers. Maybe Morphine. So perhaps not so much screaming at the hospital. At the incident, yes.
Wheelchair, no idea. I'd say a year as a guess. Walking, same, no idea. maybe 1 1/2 years.
