President Barack Obama's treasury secretary said Sunday he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit, and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul
During his presidential campaign, Obama repeatedly vowed "you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.
Anyone surprised? or will you just blame Bush.

middle class is not well defined. even if you make over 500k a year, you are still considered middle class.
I already blame Bush!
Republican --- I think we should raise tax's because i see this big debt and nothing being done to pay it off. If they give us a 0.5-0.75% federal income tax raise across all income levels then we should be able to start putting a dent into the deficit. That half to 3/4's of a percentage point wont make that much of a difference in the middle class's take home pay. But when spread out over millions of people it will add up to alot. And the upper class will have this same percentage also.
The increased taxes will go to the uber-wealthy. Or... it's just a reversal of the tax cuts that You-Know-Who gave. Stop obfuscating - there's a difference between the rich elite and the rest of the working population.
Go ahead and troll. Maybe Geihtner will see this and realize the error of his ways.
Obama's mentor Saul Alinsky's plan is to break the middle class, and establish a socialists society. His pupil is doing a bang up job. We will be broken in less than 2 years at the pace Pelosi is spending money.
Taxes have already gone up. I'm paying more for cigarettes. I really don't care what two guys say "might" happen, the simple fact is, one way another everybody will pay more in taxes and the lowest in the food chain will keep paying the most.
Blame Bush!
When GM starts making electric cars, money will be pouring in and the economy will turn around completely. The value of the government's investment in GM will multiply itself 100000 fold, enough to wipe out the deficit completely and put us in an 800 trillion dollar surplus. Not to mention that when the government starts building all these wind and solar farms, the cost of food and energy will plummet and we will all be rich, rich, rich!
I love this "exploding budget deficit".
It's polled to be about 40% voter's remorse now.
I pray I can outlive this administration...
False campaign promises didn't fool anyone with half a brain. But then , we didn't vote for the man either.
LOL, I wonder if raising taxes will bite him the way it bit Bush Sr.
No surprise, and yes it will be a Bush Blame game. Typical lying Liberal.
