Alright, so I found a 2000 Toyota Celica, with almost 200,000 miles on it. It drives nicely, it does have cosmetic damage, and the leather interior isn't in good condition, but nothing that would affect the performance. The dealer wants $3,750 for it, however we talked him down to $3,000 but that's the lowest the dealer will go. He said he bought it at an auction, so naturally he wants to make money off the sale. What do you guys think? Yay? Nay? Thanks for the help.
Update:I'm not concerned on looks; if that was the case, the cosmetic damage and the leather seats would have sent me running. The bad thing is $3,000 is about my budget. I've noticed it's hard to find a car in that budget that has low miles, and that's not a junker. :/ For a dealer, it's around the price it should be according to the KBB but if he was a personal seller, it'd be a few hundred too much. I agree with you Bill, I'll wait for his call that says he will go down $500.

Not sure if the Kelly Blue Book website will go back that far. I'd look there first and factor in the mileage and the damage to determine the price. The miles don't bother me too much since it's about 15K a year average. Depends on whether or not you want it for a daily driver or something fun to play with on the week-ends. Consumer reports listed 2002 and 2003 Celia's as being under $10K. Look for comparables before making your decision.
You can always leave your name and number and tell him that when it comes down another $500 to call you. At the end of the month you just may get a call.
No, dont do it. overpriced.
The car has TOO MANY MILES on it. Believe me you don't want a lemon.
Dont get caught on looks and styling. You have to think of it in the long run. Search for a car in your budget in good conditions and not too many miles
