2001 Honda Civic Transmission problems?
I have a 2001 honda civic with a maual transmission. Today it started slipping out of 5th gear and continued doing so. Does anyone know what is causing this? The shift knob moved on its own and went into the neutral position.

Check the gear oil and the clutch fluid bleed if necessary. Pray its not a bad clutch.
you are probably low on transmission fluid, this or your serpentine belt needs to be changed due to wear and tear. The loss of power could also point towards the alternator as well. The first two you may be able to do yourself but the alternator may require expert assistance.
the shifter is worn out or the trans is. they dont last forever. the "syncros" are going out inside trans or just plain old tired.. it an 01 with , i bet -- alot of miles on it too.. maybe the clutch but, most likely the trans is telling you its "done".
