2013 Giant Reign 1 or 2013 Specialized Enduro Comp?
90% of my riding is in Texas, but I do plan on trying some downhill stuff in Colorado. I want a bike that can handle techical descents without sacrificing pedaling efficiency.
I love both but I tend to like the Giant due to the weight of the shock is lower so it hugs berms better for me. But the best thing is to ride both and see what geo works better for you.
The giant has slightly more steep headtube angle making it slightly better for tech riding than for outright speed IMO, but both of them are nearly the same. Perhaps try test riding a bike with a headtube angle closer to seventy degrees and another closer to sixty degrees before making the final decision. The folks at forums.mtbr.com would be able to answer this question better than any of us here, there's a whole bunch of them from TX that are likely also familiar with your trails. Most own multiple bikes so they could really know what geometry would best suit your paths and style.
