yes, I have had that happen. As you get further along in pregnancy, more pressure will be put on your internal organs, including your stomach and lungs.
Pregnancy is hard, and a lot of people don't realize the toll it takes on a woman's body. Your muscles that hold your uterus in place are stretching, so you may also feel muscle pulls in your lower belly and in your upper belly.
These pains are normal. Pregnancy is hard. The best thing to do is stretch often. Sit on the floor in the indian style position(crosslegged)and reach straight up as far as you can, then reach to the side, and reach in front. Do this several times a day.
If the pain is worse at night, try getting a body pillow, and laying with it under your stomach and between your legs. This usually aligns your spine and takes pressure off of your stomach and back. Or you may have to remove one or two pillows under your head, so that you are not compressing your torso and causing pressure.
See if this helps. I know it did for me. Especially the body pillow, that was a GOD send!
God bless you!
I had those uncomfortable pains.. my kids would kick me while they stretched and grew inside me. And the pressure of the baby growing and it's weight on your body is pretty intense sometimes...The previous poster is absolutely right - the toll a pregnancy takes on a woman's body is so often overlooked. In most cultures, a woman is supposed to wait 3 years before conceiving again - to give her body enough time to recover.
If you are not comfortable with your current doctor - find another. I did. I went with a midwife and loved it... there is so much more control and interaction with YOUR pregnancy than with a traditional OB/GYN... What ever you choose - it's your body and your pregnancy - if you're not confident that your doc is doing what's best for you - change.. even if it's taking your frantic calls about stuff like this...
Congrats by the way on having a baby :-)
Yes, it is normal. You baby is getting bigger and bigger inside of you and may press on your ribs. I had the same problem. I had pains so bad that I would have to take IB-profin every few hours. Try taking some pain reliever.
Sorry but if these pains are unbearable that is not normal you need a second opinion.
if you already told your doc. then everything should be ok. but if this continues to worry you then please keep bugging her. that's what they are there for. and yes sometimes i get some UNBREABLE pain, but it goes away after me just laying down for a few minutes. and i also get the palpitations....occasionally....
if your not comfortable with what your doctor said go to the er if it gets worse and get a second opinion. my doctor was not right so i am seeing a more caring professional than her.
