Trait discussed: Colored vs not colored corn kernels. Colored is the dominant gene, C. Not colored is the recessive gene, c.
Question 1) Draw 2 Punnett squares showing the offspring phenotypes generated when a test cross is performed with a heterozygote and with a homozygote dominant.
2) Imagine you have performed test crosses with 2 plants grown from colored kernels. The offspring produced by the first cross is represented by the ear labeled A. The offspring produced by the second cross is represented by the ear labeled B. The genotype of colored kernel PARENT of ear A is Cc. Th genotype of colored kernel parent of ear B is CC. What do you think the ratio of colored to uncolored kernels is on ear A? Explain your answer.
3) The ears labeled 5 were produced from a cross of plants grown from colorless kernels. Determine the approximate ratio of kernel phenotypes produced in these ears. What are the genotypes of the parents of ear 5?
Any help would be very much appreciated. This was quite confusing.

1. Cc X CC ==> CC, CC, CC, Cc
2. No uncoloured because none is homozygous recessive
3. cc X cc ==> All colourless cc
