Hello,
Im 38 weeks pregnant and have just now started feeling really bad. I don't know how to tell work I would just like to go out now, so Im wondering what I could tell the doctor in order to get taken off sooner. My back is killing me, I can barely walk anymore from the pressure and my job is so busy that I sometimes dont even get a lunch and then I feel like I will pass out from not eating. Can anyone offer some advice?

Most states have disability for pregnant women as close to term as you are, sweetie. I used to work in an OB/GYN office
in NYC. I was in charge of the insurance department. I filled out disability claims for gals like you who are so close to term and just could not hack the daily schedule anymore. You need to call your doctor's office and tell him or her exactly what you said here.
The way it works in NYS is that a woman can collect 8 weeks of disability benefits (roughly half her pay) around the birth of her child. Most women wait as long as possible so they can stay home with the baby longer and enjoy the bonding experience.
Sounds like you are suffering too much to think about that now, sweetie. It's okay...Mommie comes first as this point. You know, on an airplane when the oxygen masks drop the flight attendent says, "Put the oxygen on yourself first and then on the child you are traveling with."
I think you need to put that oxygen mask on, stay home, relax,
get ready to be a Mommie and chill out. You are entitled to it, I think, in every state. Please call your state office of disability or ask the benefits manager where you work.
When the baby is born please welcome him or her to earth with a soft kiss and a prayer from me. May your child live and enchanted life filled with magic.
Meanwhile, put your feet up and rest...geez, I was 29 days late in my last pregnancy and your words sound like me. Best wishes, kiddo.
I know what you are feeling, I am a CNA and I can't take it anymore. I collapse when I go home at night and Im 33 weeks pregnant. If you tell your doctor you are physically not able to do your job and you feel like your baby's health is at risk there should be no problem and he will write you the note. I hope he does and everything woeks out Good Luck
In Canada you can leave work for your maternity up to 8 weeks before your due date. However if you live elsewhere I am unsure the labor laws. Your 2 weeks away from your due date girl!!! you go see your doctor tell him/her that you are stressed your back aches and you feel sore and tired lol and all the other symptoms of late pregnancy. your doctor can order you on early leave no questions asked. I do think you should check with your employer you should be entitled to mat leave now if not weeks ago. I wish you luck take care!
I know you need ur job but, dont think I'm lecturing, I know you know what i'm saying. The health of you and the baby is more important of any job. Ask the doc for a written letter to leave work early. Remember your not just eating for you, your eating for two. Eat eat eat, rest drink, feet up and relax. God Bless honey. Congrats
Just tell the doctor and ask the doc to give you something in writting so u can get off early because u and the baby need to be ok. Congrats i hope everything works out.
I would ask work when they would allow you to start taking maternity leave, granted you are eligible for it. Usually HR departments are pretty flexible since telling you no could get them in trouble if your "condition" affects your health. If worse comes to worse, you could ask the doctor for the leave of absence paperwork and they would probably do it for you. Most of the people I know that were due or starting to feel physically bad started their maternity leave early to get things in order and take care of themselves before the big day.
Good luck!
I went a week early for my leave. I just asked the doctor if he would write me a doctors note early and he didn't even ask why. He just wrote it. You don't have to tell them why. They are doctors and they know exactly what we go through. And don't worry about work, you have to take care of yourself and your baby first. Good luck!
you are probably having early contractions.I was the say way and two wks later I had my daughter. It is such a discomfort in the back nothing that u do makes it feel better.Ask ur dr. to put you on leave.
Tell your DR the truth. Mine told me that as soon as I no longer felt up to working they would write me the note.
Just explain to your Dr. he will understand and so will your job. just tell them your uncomfortable and do it anymore.
