i want to buy a tv for a christmas present. it is a panasonic plasma 720p model th42px80u. is this a good tv? good price?
Update:It is for a basement which is pretty dark. Would glare still be a big problem?

You can get a 42" phillips lcd 1080p tv for $779 at Walmart! Look around first.. they are having good deals on the plasma 720p's.. because they aren't as good as the lcd since they have a ton of glare.. go with lcd instead.. even with the anti- glare the plasma has you still get a glare...
Probably not in the basement if it's dark.. 1080p is still a better picture whether it's for the basement or not... make sure you for at least a 10 - 20,000 to 1 dinamic contrast ratio. If you can't find a 1080p.. the deal you found is worth paying for. Good luck!!!!

great deak but at sears i think there is a 50 in one for 899! i have it and i absoultly adore it! i think they have it for 999 at circuit city but you can always price check and then get a lower price. but that sounds like agood deaal for that one too
