So I came across this 55 inch Toshiba TV today at a yard sale. I don't know much about TVs, however, she was only asking $5 so being a little bit of a gambler to me it was a steal. The seller told me that it has a cracked screen and that she was just selling it for parts. Being hopeful, I took the TV home and started disassembling it. Again, I am not extremely familiar with TVs, but I would appreciate any productive information from somebody who has been in a similar situation as to what the problem could be. The outter screen that lies on the illuminated white base has no cracks on it. Same is true with the white illuminated base. I will attach some pictures to further assist in drawing a conclusion.
Thanks for your time!!

That's a sure sign of a cracked screen you may want to take the model number down and check the electronic recycling centres or buy and sell ads etc and try to locate the same set that maybe has a good screen/panel but a circuit board like the power supply etc might be no good on it and switch the parts.
Hope that helps and best of luck.by the way those boards inside that set usually they have stickers on them or their stamped with the board part numbers on them. It's vital if you switch boards that not only the make/model numbers of the sets match up but the board's visually match and have the same part numbers.Note some sets may have substitute boards that will work or different models may use the same board/boards.Note that you might be able to sell the good used boards and get money towards a new or used working set. Also keep in mind although two sets might be the exact same make/model they may have different screens/panels in them and different boards.
defo cracked and badly as the fluids are all leaking into one another its been dropped and the seal has gone on the edge the pools of chemicals are all over the shop150-300 dollars to get new screen +100 dollars to fit and test stickm it on ebay for $20 spares
you could get the model number of the TV and search on ebay to see if anyone is selling a LCD panel for it.
try buying a screen for that....toss it and sell the internals.
Next time, just throw your money into the fire.
