4 reasons really:
1)young people have big healthy nerves in their teeth, so for instance in your front teeth, which are quite thin, something cold can get them aching.
2)a cavity will cause a tooth to be sensitive when it gets cold
3)root sensitivity. If the gums recede and the root of the tooth is exposed, then cold will cause sensitivity
4)an abscess or infection under the tooth will cause aching if the area gets cold, contracts and causes a pressure increase.
Anti-sensitive toothpaste like Sensodyne will help for root sensitivity
A filling will help for a cavity
A root canal or an extraction helps if it is an abscess
Good luck!
