I would choose the latter, never being happy but changing the world.
Our lives, objectively, have no real value. As the argument goes, eventually we will all die. People that did matter and people that did not wont be remembered because eventually the world will explode and all memories and files will be gone.
Since we so dispensable and dont matter and thus it doesnt matter if we are happy or not, we should at least make our days here count and affect the world until the world explodes.
I think happiness is the maximum goal of life and to be able to be truly happy we would have to accomplish something, the source of our happiness. It might sound selfish but life is a personal experience and if you do enough to be truly happy that represent you already changed your world.
Very interesting dilemma. That's a tough one and one that is specifically problematic to my own view of values (I believe an individuals happiness is his/her own highest good).
I guess the best respone I can come up with is that your dilemma would be impossible for me. I could never be truly happy while never accomplishing anything or be completely unhappy and changing the world (where change the world means change the world in a positive way).
As a great philosopher once said,"The only person who is ever totally happy is the village idiot". I choose the latter- I would rather be an agent of change for the world than to be happy- someday my children or grandchildren might be happy because of something I did.
I would be selfish I think and be truly happy. Let someone else change the world, it wont hurt me any, I'll be truly happy. Of course there is only one thing that needs to happen for me to be truly happy right now...
I would probably change the world, if it was in a good way, because then manymore peope would be happy. Though, it depends. If i was never happy, OKAY, but if i am UNHAPPY, then no. The vibe and chain affects of that are way too great.
Changing the world means nothing... Because someone WILL change the world AGAIN after you. Or someone will just psis all over what you did and try to take credit. Either way, you may be remembered, but not forever...

I would like to be truly happy in accomplishing something in this world rather then not accomplishing anything, & be sad.
I would rather be truly happy then change the world.
If im not happy then it would surely effect everyone around me.
Yes the world would be changed but for how long?
