oh yeah racism still goes on you might not hear it as much but it's still out there i have experienced racism to an extent, i am not sure if i know anyone that's racist but i might i just don't know that they are racist
Unfortunately as long as there are people that have their minds closed to others way of life and are unwillingly to learn and be open and fair minded we will have racism.
I know a few people who would be considered racist but fortunately they are not people I am friends with or related to.
I don't see it , but I think certain leaders use it as for furthering a cause . No , I don't know any racists but I used to work with a lady of another race than mine who would rant & rant all through lunch about racism ..but with no specifics - yet we were all friends and nobody mistreated her in any way . I read about a racist act on rare ocassion , but in the real world I see everybody getting along .
Of course it still goes on, unfortunately. Moreso in the south than the north, but it exists everywhere. Even if people aren't blatant about it, they still have racist ideas and stereotypes that get passed on generation after generation.
To some extent yes, I think every race does. When people of another race have been insulted by your race before, you never get as much respect from them as they give to their own race.
I know extremely racist people. Some members of my family and a lot of older or more conservative people that I've met. I've been in interracial dating before, and let's just say that some people that saw us together had things to say that weren't very nice.
Racism prolongs itself when your black roommate steals YOUR kool-aid and then deliberately prepares himself some CHERRY kool aid in a cup he stole from YOUR cabinet while he pretends as if they do sell anything but tropical punch kool-aid at the store.
Or when your cigars disappear, but you find their mysterious tobacco filling littering the garbage.
Or when you get a text at 3am to please leave the room so he and two buddies can "train on a white *****," an endeavor i had to break up so nobody got hurt because all parties involved were absolutely trashed.
Or when you overhear him talking about all the financial aid he gets because he's black (in his words). Although, it's no issue because the money he doesn't have to pay doesn't go towards anything since he never goes to class.
I'm not racist. But lately I've been having to ignore bigger and bigger urges to stereotype.
of course racism still goes on! i dont think it will ever die down but i think it will lessen dramatically (hopefully).
yes i have experienced racism.. im from australia yet my parents are migrants from iran.. apparently i dont look iranian (i look more italian) but my brother looks more middle eastern.. since those 9/11 attacks.. my poor bro been called terrorist while he was in primary.
thats really slack..
many people i know arent racist by nature or on purpose.. like everyone might say something once in a while without thinking its bad or demeaning..
Yeah it definetly goes on, in all shapes and forms and on both sides of the fence. I live in MD, which still has some interesting parts and is widely diverse, and we got racism on all sides. And my friends act like closet racists making jokes everyonce and a while, but wouldn't say it to someones faces, and this also applies to black friends of mine, asian friends, and other friends.
