Hey! In my school we have an advanced video production course where we use Sony Vegas Pro to make all of our videos! I would say it depends on what kind of videos you would want to make, with Adobe After effects you can do some pretty crazy things with it, it's more of a special effects program which is pretty sweet! But if you're just going to be doing gameplay then I would say Sony Vegas would be the one for you because it's not to advanced yet you can make your videos look pretty professional!

Of the Adobe programs Premiere Pro is Vegas' counterpart, not After Effects, which is a complex motion graphics and compositing app, not a simple video editing app.

I think youre into video editing. Go for vegas, after effects is not for you.
