The formula for the sum is (a(1) + a(n)) • (n/2)
So for the first, a(1) = 40, a(50) = 89 and n = 50 so (40 + 89) • 50/2
Then for the second you need the 22nd term.. That formula is a(n) = a(1) + d(n - 1)
so a(22) = 4 + 4(21) = 4 + 84 = 88
Then use the formula from the first question.
And the last one is just like the second one.
