Just start p,aging with sounds and find something that sounds cool. Think about what your characters, are they poetic? Then give them a poetic sounding name. Are they male or female? Or neither, or both? Are they warriors, gruff types, then give them shorter, more harsh sounding names, the more guttural the better. Think about how their language sounds and what their mouths can/can't say. Remember that even here on earth, some people cannot make certain sounds in other languages.
Also think of the culture behind that name, even if you made it up. Almost all first and last names on Earth have a historical and a cultural meaning behind it. Like "William" is an English form of an old Germanic name meaning "Determined Guardian". So it was mostly likely given to people they wanted to be warriors and protectors. Could something like that be involved in your characters naming? Other cultures also assign family names or clan names with them. These can either be very strong bonds "Fa Mulan" to medium bonds "Harry Potter" or generally weak bonds "Spock, son of Sarek". Study other cultures, yes, even on each and see how they name people. How a society names says a lot about their culture.
As for a general guideline for the writing of the name... Just go with a basic roman alphabet English pronunciation as a guide. Remember, most readers will "hear" the name, even if they read silently. As long as YOU can pronounce it, and a stranger can pronounce it without difficulty, you should be fine. Just like translating Japanese names into English, we don't translate the characters but the sounds.
