Your games needs a top class laptop to play smoothly. Highly recommend the M18x. Although the M18x is a gaming laptop but it runs on Windows 7, photoshop and after effects will perform well. as Macbook.

An Alienware is anticipated for gaming. A Mac is anticipated for graphic work, video editing etc, Also a lot of software comes pre-installed for that region of work on Macs. But in your position i'd go with the Alienware if you have PS & AE ready to install, then you will have a PC that is perfect for you.

Keep in mind that most games are made for the Windows os, so a Mac won't be all that great for gaming.

Alienware because it will run Windows 7 so that means you almost never seeing Kernel Panics. It is also the fastest operating system on the market, most laptops even the two hundred dollar ones come with HD graphics, image an Alienware one, probably ATI RADEON 6900. That is amazing, also anything around NVIDIA 9000 is also amazing. Most PCs have a built in webcam that have YOUCAM software. Also a pc is usually good for pc gaming. :)

To the above answerer: There's not many people out there building their own laptops these days. Is it done? Yes. Often? Not really. The PC would be better because you're just not going to get that much gaming going on with a Mac, sad to say. One could use a windows dual boot on their macbook, in whatever method Apple is using now to do such a thing, but even then you're going to be stuck with a sub-par video card to play your games on.

Macs just aren't gaming rigs.
