So I'm comparing two computers, not planning on doing much besides watch videos on iTunes, play some MMO's, other games, and browse the internet. Casual stuff.
I've narrowed it down to 2 computers,

and

The gateway has better RAM, but is more expensive.
My REAL question is this, which is better, a
AMD Athlon X2 7450(2.4GHz)
and a
Intel Pentium dual-core E5200(2.50GHz)
I have been told GHz don't matter all that much...Would either of these computers support gaming?

As soon as I read Gateway, I would have chosen the other computer. I have never had a good experience with them, and as far as AMD vs. Intel...I used to be a die hard AMD fan, but now I'm wishing my last machine had been Intel. A lot of my buddies work in the upper echelon of the computer service industry, and they all agree that Intel is the better chip now a days.
The Intel machine is all around a better deal.
For 50 dollars more you are getting a better graphics card (essential for gaming), more ram, and a slightly better CPU.
The Intel core2's also have a much high heat tolerance which leads to a over all longer lifespan.
I agree with pretty much everything stated by the other users. I would go for the Intel processor. They've been better versus their AMD competitors. Check the source for exact benchmarks.
i'd personally go for the AMD
i'd only go with intel if i had a bigger budget, the E5200 isn't that good.
both will support gaming
