a math question : a boy bought 1 dozen pencil and gave 200 taka (Bangladeshi money) to the seller. if vat was 5% then what was price of each pencil.

Cost after 5% tax = 200*1.05 = 210 taka.
The cost per pencil is the total cost / 12 (1 dozen) = 210/12 = 17.5 taka each.
I beleive vat is a kind of sales tax, so the answer would be:
12(1.05p) = 200,
12.6p=200
p=15.873
