I was assigned a project in history class where I have to make a Facebook profile for a Hindu god or goddess. I picked Annapurna but after reading about her I'm still kind of confused. Is Annapurna and Parvati the same person ? What does "incarnation" mean? & which other gods or goddesses was she associated with?

Let me clear some confusion for you.
Hindus belief in one god. It composes of one form that has both male and female quality. All the male gods are the same and all the female goddess are the same. That one god just have many different forms that represents the devine nature of the universe. Like Parvati means preservation. Mother Parvati and Vishnu both represents preservation. So Hindus worship them for good qulities of preservation etc
Incarnation means when god takes a form and come down on earth.
Vishnu and Parvati came as Ram and Sita the 7th incarnation. The 8th was Krishna and Rada.
All the female forms are the same and they are all associated with each other.
Yes. Lord Shiva got anna from Goddess Annapoorna! Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati once entered into a philosophical discussion. during the course of discussions Lord Shiva said that possessions are temporary as everything is Maya (illusion) and even the food we eat is no exception. Goddess Parvati did not agree that food is illusion. She argued that "if food is illusion, I am also an illusion". She wanted to know how the world would survive without food and disappeared. Her disappearance caused Nature came to a stand still. There were no seasonal changes. Everything remained barren. There was regeneration or birth. Soon there was severe drought and shortage of food. Shiva soon realized that he is incomplete without Shakti. Gods, humans and demons all kept praying for food. Goddess Parvati could not see her children perishing out hunger and appeared in Kashi (Varanasi) and started distributing food. Shiva appeared before her with a begging bowl and Goddess Parvati fed Shiva. Shiva said that food cannot be dismissed as mere illusion as it is required to nourish the body in which resides the Atma. Since then Goddess Parvati is worshipped as the Goddess of food – Annapoorna Devi.
As far as I understand, Annapurna is short of a title, which describes about Noble lady, who always feeds any one with love.
So in Hindu belief, when any lady has this quality then we address her as Annapurna - one who always offers food happily and under all circumstances.
Parvati and any other Goddesses or even ordinary Lady, who has this noble quality can be addressed as Annapurna.
Still you may draw your own conclusion based on more answers you arelikely to receive.
Annam (means)= Food
Poornam(means)=in infinite quantity.
Goddess sri.Paarvathi's name is Annapoorna.
sri.Annapoorna is Not incarnation (Avthaaram--what some people wrongly say "Avatar") of Goddess sri.Paarvathi--sri.Parvathi's synonym is Annapoorna at a particular place and context.
Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathi get innumerable "NAMES" at various places.
In Madurai=> Meenaakshi (Paarvathi) and Sundareswara (Siva)--in Madurai Meenaakshi is "RULING Deity"--Siva is only Next to Goddess
In Kanchi=> Kaamaakshi is Parvathi--Ekaambareswara (Siva)
In Kaasi (Benares) Visaalakshi is Parvathi --Visvanatha (SIVA)--in Kaasi Paarvathi fed the whole world--hence She is Annapoorna,.,
The name Parvathi itself is derived:- "Parvatha Rajasya Kumaari Paarvathi"=Daughter of the king of mountains (Himalayas) is Paarvathi.
The story goes like this.Once Parvathi asked Her husband Lord Siva to give Her sufficient rice to feed all Her children in the World--Lord Siva is very micerly-stingy--he gives only Two measures (2 "Naazhi")--about one kilogram of rice--Sri.Parvathi increases that rice to Infinite quaantity (Poornam) and feeds (Annam) the whole world. So he is Annapoorna.--sri.Annapoorna's "Original" place of dwelling is Kaasi (Benares)--She is the consort of Lord Visvanaatha.--when She was "Feeding" the whole world Lord Siva also stands in the line (Que) and waits His turn to get His share of cooked rice!!!!!!!
One can "Google" =>"Images of Annapurna ans Siva picture"--one will get about 24 pictures--One is a mis-fit--Different Artists have visualised in 23 differnt ways.--a picture may be a good annexure for a History /Art project.
