My doctor wants me to g n antidepressants as i have depression im scared tho of side affects and what happens when i come off them will i go back to the same way i am nw?
For the most part, they don't know the long term side effects of antidepressants. Most of them are relatively new. As for when you are done with them there should hopefully be change. They should help cure your depression, if it was caused by a chemical imbalance. If not, then your depression may come back. You need to find out what is causing you to be depressed. The drugs are there to help you do that. They are not the only cure, you have to work on it as well.
I've been on anit-depressants for the last 7 months and have had a few side effects such as no appetite, shakiness, and such. The one side effect I'm having trouble with is short term memory loss. It's a side effect on 2 pills that I'm taking and it's the only one that has lasted. The others went away after a few days. The pills help tremedously though, so I can deal with being a little forgetful.
The side effects rarely ever even occur, but they might make you really tired. Anti-depressants almost always help tremendiously. Try taking the pills for 2-4 weeks and if they don't help, or the side effects are more intense than you expected, tell your doctor and try something else.
