Personally I like Thompson and believe he is probably the ONLY true conservative in the race. I think the problem is he jumped in too late. He's been trying to play catch up the whole time. I believe had he gotten in earlier it would a completely different ball game right now. I don't live in Iowa but am still seriously considering voting for him

Gosh, I hope there are LOTS of Iowa Republicans out there. I'm next door in Illinois and feel like an outcast since I live in Cook County (the Daley machine bleeds blue).

I'm trying to learn more about Duncan Hunter, actually. For some reason I'm having a hard time taking Thompson seriously and the recent attacks about Huckabee's pardons and such are making me a bit twitchy.

I don't think there's a perfect candidate, and I could be happy with Rudy or Mitt as they've both demonstrated some backbone in tough situations. My two big concerns with this election are

National Security (we cannot stop the fight against terrorism)

Illegal immigrants (build the wall!!)

UPDATE: A Thompson/Hunter ticket? That might work - you've given me something to think about! By any chance are you a Rush Limbaugh fan?

Fred sounds too lazy and boring the best choice for Repubs is obviously McCain but they are too dumb to know that. But they dont like him because he dosent side with them all the time. Rudy has more skeletons in the closet from a politician I have ever seen.

Huckabee is actually a good choice because he is authentic and speaks from the heart.

Romney is the Republican version of John Kerry
