My son is just going off of it. One side effect for him was that it caused him to NOT have much of an appetite. That's it. Why don't you google it or go to webmd.com and get more information. Remember that side effects listed don't mean that they will happen. When they are researching a new drug and it is in the trials any symptom that is reported by a person involved with the trial has to be reported. So lets say I was one of those people and while taking the drug I started vomiting from the flu, they would have to list it as a possible side effect even if it didn't have anything to do with the medicine. Try not to worry, but it is very, very good that you are questioning it. Good job! You should always be informed.
Yes Im on it. I just started taking it last week. The side effects are you will be pretty tired the first 3-4 days when you get up in the morning but make sure you stick to a schedule and it will be fine in about 3 days. I was told that I would be hungry more but I haven't had that so far. Also I get light headed during the day here and there. It also depends on what your dose is. The good news is that the side effects seem to go away after about 3 days.
I take 300 mg of Seroquel every night as a sleep-aid and mood stabilizer. About 20 minutes after taking my dosage, I usually become a little drowsy and very hungry. I usually have a foggy memory of my actions after taking my seroquel. It allows me to sleep through the night which is very important to me. Every ones side effects will be different, as I'm sure your doctor explained.
I have been on and off Seroquel for 4 years now, I don`t like it personally. It supposed to be a great drug for bipolar disorder, I don`t find it that great for me. It`s very sedating, it can cause massive weight gain, tremors, and it makes me EXTREMELY VIOLENT. The violence is not a usual side effect but the others are fairly common.Sedation is the main one.....weight gain is the other. But most people like this medication,it can be a life saver as far as mania is concerned.
I take 100mg every evening. When I first got it the pharmacist told me to be careful because it makes you drowsy, but that's why it's prescribed to me. :P It's basically a mild sedative, it won't straight out put you to sleep like zopiclone or something, but it does make it easier to sleep. And never drink alcohol with it.

I tried abilify and invega ut they didnt work for me...but I know ppl who are quite "happy" with them. If you can avoid thiskind of meds, avoid it.
