I think it starts with simple explanations for strange events. The mind will try to create a reason for everything. And our imagination and rational abilities give us all the tools we need to manifest worlds.

i think some "creatures" are the product of the mind's interpretations, on the basis of true reality. it's a form of intelligence, in my opinion.

is a unicorn a real physical creature, or is it a creation of a person's interpretive mind? what would it be based on, then? in my opinion, a "unicorn" refers to a UNIQUE person ... and of course, such person's qualities and features would be akin to that of a horse, in addition to being such a rare individual. the golden horn indicates or represents a person's "golden mind", which means the richness of their intelligence and understanding. or maybe it's just that some humans are like the real, true living (rare) creature itself.

some people say faeries are quite literal and real. maybe they are.

i've seen real, true non-human entities / beings, so the likeliness of "creatures" existing holds no doubt in my mind. it's a matter of knowing the difference between a creation and a real, true creature.
