Before any of you argue, yes a pinto is a breed I did my research, they're different than paints. They're not quarter horses with the overo or tabino or whatever genes. So don't go saying they're not a breed. They're in sales, people post it on YouTube of their pintos and they don't look like paints. They look smaller. Oh and they're in my horse encyclopedia I can post a picture too....but does anyone know if they're good for barrel racing?

Maybe. You could try, but may not be as good as a quarter horse.
Pintos are not a breed, they have a pinto registry for any breed of horse that is Pinto in color as stated on the National Pinto Registry website.

It is not necessarily the breed of horse that makes it a good barrel racer, it is the conformation, speed and mentality. the typical ideal barrel racer is low to the ground with a powerful hind end enabling it to make tight turns and dig into the ground harder and faster to maintain speed when coming out of its turns. The ideal breed is typically a Quarter Horse because the breed is naturally built with this profile, however I have known small thouroughbreds and several arabians that were great barrel racers too.
Pinto isn't a breed at all. Pinto is a horse with overo, tovero, or tobiano markings of ANY breed. Paint is a breed based on the QH and TB. There are pinto arabians, pinto mustangs, the American Spotted Saddlebred is pinto, Gypsy Vanners are pinto, etc. Since horses with pinto markings can be any breed, they may or may not be good at barrel racing.
Yep, any horse can be a barrel racer. You just gotta train em right.
