It's a stupid idea to set quotas though, imagine the damage that would be done if 60% of SA's cricket team had to be ousted to allow black people to play. If they are that concerned about having black people being represented then try developing sport at grassroot level, don't attack the national teams. The best players should be selected, that's the only fair way.
Update 3:What if England put quotas on the amount of white people who played in national teams? We would have to kick out a couple of black people from the football team because they are over represented. An Asian Brit would have to go from the cricket team because they are over represented. We would have to try to get some Asians and blacks into our rugby side. It's just a ridiculous concept.

Quotaism is the concept of organising society by a quota system, whether by racial, gender, language or another demographic attribute. The basic premise is to have demographics represented at all levels and aspects of the civilisation according to national statistics.
A quota system is often part of any Affirmative Action policies, but in those cases it is mainly used as an "target", within a single entity. Quotaism applies to the whole country and is enforced by legislation on all public and private entities.
I don t believe quotas should be all thrown in one basket and told they are no good. I think the South African sports need something to steer them forward in regards to human rights. Sport is a great leveller as all sportsmen and sportswomen play on the same field regardless of creed or colour. Unfortunately South Africa need plenty of guidance in regards to human rights as their track record is absolutely appalling. I think if a quota system is administered in a responsible manner and carefully managed/supported by the right people then it can be completely beneficial to all South Africans sports people and the entire world itself. A quota used wisely for now but not forever.
Lol let's be honest here CSA would never play players of colour if it wasn't for Quotas it doesn't matter how good they were or how favourable conditions are to play them. Prime example is in this past t20 world cup a tournament played in spinner friendly conditions, they take a black player with them because they have to do so and they don't play him because???lol I can't help but laugh cause the guy played pretty well in the two meaningless matches he played and actually got a man of the match award in one of them. If CSA had 4 good black players but only had to play 1 they'd play only 1 so that white players can get the 10 remaining spots. If you really stop and think about it without Quotas we would have NEVER seen players like Amla, Prince, Dumminy and Ntini. Another example is when Dumminy came to the scene he only got his chance because Prince (a cape coloured player) was injured and another player of colour had to take his spot. Dumminy took the chance with both hands and when Prince came back He couldn't get a place in the team because the "only" spot he could take was Dumminy's the white players were safe no matter how badly they played they knew that Prince and Dumminy would never played in the same team together.
No and this to me has been to the detriment of South African sport, it's already been shown as a lot of their best players have left due to the quota system. If you use Rugby as an example 8 years ago South Africa were streaks ahead of the rest of the world and now they aren't. The fact that South Africa have now effectively banned themselves from hosting major cricket events is not going to help the sport either.
Quota system is worst form of racism in my view. If you want more black people in the team it means you are creating differences in the nation, you are creating hatred. It is like you are saying that white people are not equal citizens of SA. A nation is a nation and all people are equal. Everyone should be selected on merit, whether the whole team becomes black or white. It is ridiculous really ridiculous. Cricket is more popular in white people and ultimately they have more talent and are more deserving to play and on the other hand soccer is more popular in blacks, so if SAs soccer team is full black then why no one complains? Look at Zimbabwe team now and try to recall how it was in 1999. Same is going to be with SA as I am seeing.
Quotas aren't a good idea anywhere. They just lead to lower standards.
In the Olympic Games they have quotas. To reduce the number of athletes competing.
Absolutely not. It destroyed Zimbabwean Cricket.
Ever since "The end of Apartheid", South African cricket has been cheating with their so called "Racial quotas", serves S A cricket right.
