After watching today's performance and with some help from the Telegraph, I thought the Arsenal fans could do with a bit of cheering up....
Here are the two teams:
Arsenal Premier League XI: (4-4-1-1): Almunia; Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy; Walcott, Fabregas, Denilson, Nasri; Van Persie; Adebayor. Subs: Bendtner, Diaby, Rosicky, Eduardo, Eboue.
Arsenal Carling Cup XI: (4-4-2): Fabianski; Hoyte, Song, Djourou, Gibbs; Wilshere, Ramsey, Randall, Merida; Simpson, Vela. Subs: Mannone, Bischoff, Lansbury, Fonte, Coquelin, Ogogo, Frimpong.
Feel free to change them around putting whoever you want as the subs or changing the formation.
and now you write what you think the score would be...and if you want, have some fun explaining what would happen in this game, be as creative as you want! Best one gets 10 points!
Thanks Footy Section!

Arsenal (the real one) had to come from behind, after Mexican sensation Carlos Vela said 'adios' to William Gallas, running rings around the Gunners' skipper, who later settled for a sly cigarette and a weep in the showers. Jack Wilshere had to let referee arsene Wenger know that he needs to be substituted or sent off before the 70th minute because he has a Maths GCSE exam due the next day, not to mention how far it was past his bedtime.
Vela started the affair with two goals in the opening 12 minutes, the first an audacious chip over Almunia, from Aaron Ramsey's cross, the second a nutmeg through the goalkeeper's legs. Emmanuel Adebayor responded, heading in from a corner. But with Walcott trying to work out which side he was actually on he decided in the end to run around the pitch for the enjoyment of the fans, Robin van Persie responded with a 25-yard free-kick but later missed an open goal from 1 yard out, he blamed his right foot for the miss. But Jay Simpson was sent clear by Wilshere before holding off Kolo Toure and beating Almunia to put the young pretenders back into the lead.
Simpson rushed to the bench to hug his manager and senior team-mates – before realising they were all on pitch. Instead, he hugged himself and the linesmen.
Van Persie restored parity soon after the restart before Vela completed a wonderful hat-trick, taking a short pass from Fabianski inside his own goal area, running the entire length of the pitch, rounding all four defenders, before becoming bored with the failure of the first-team to take the ball off him. So the Mexican took it back to the halfway line, beating six of his own team-mates for fun, then back-flipping the ball and scissor-kicking from 60 yards, over Almunia. By then Gallas had gone through an entire box of tissues with his crying
But, after Wilshere was dismissed, Adebayor completed a marvellous game with another firm header. Afterwards, Wenger said: "I believe we have seen the past, the present and the future of Arsenal Football Club. The boys, all 22 of them, did the club proud."
Asked about Wilshire's sending off, Wenger added: "I don't know. I didn't see it. I just flashed the card in the air and he just ran off the pitch"
enjoy ;)
If they ever play against each other the Arsenal premier league XI will win the game by a score of 3 - 1 with goals from Walcott (2) Adebayor Willshere gets the lone goal for the Arsenal Carling Cup XI
Not quite in the Premier League. They may be great going forward, but I still think they are soft through the centre as Chelsea have found out on the past few occasions. The Carling Cup is another matter. Lots of big teams are out already and the draw has been pretty kind to them. I think they will view this as the perfect opportunity to break their 5 year trophy drought, and will go all out to win it. With that kind of focus, they could be unstoppable.
hmmm....both teams look...well...crap to me!! :)
but since the carling cup team actually beat wigan...i'd go with them!!
Arsenal desperately need to make signings this JAN!
They should actually play each other and see what happens..
