About freaking time. During the Vietnam War, we allowed the NLF/PAVN to use Cambodia as a safe haven. This allowed them to stockpile supplies, train, and mount attacks from a region where US forces were forbidden to operate. You can see how well that worked out. When Nixon finally authorized the invasion of Cambodia in 1970, it resulted in a rout of enemy forces.
You cannot give the enemy a safe haven. Pakistan admitted several years ago they have no effective governmental control over the northwest border areas, and their army and intelligence services leak like sieves. So we need to do the job ourselves.
It's a risky move, and probably not a good one. I'll support air raids on know terrorist threats in Pakistan, but not ground troops, especially without their approval. I understand the purpose though. If we can force them to secure their border from our troops, it will also secure it from the insurgents. Pakistan is definitely not owning up to their end of the deal.
I think that we should have the ability to go where the enemy is and destroy them. I know that Pakistan is a soverign government and all, but they should have the same opinions of the terrorists that we have, otherwise, they are not our friends.
I agree with burke. An ally they are not. They are as much as an ally as Japan was in 1941. I am looking forward to going with my unit there and show them and every other nation what happens when you are lukewarm with the US.
I think we know every little about what it actually going on over there, and for our safety, should stay that way. They are doing what they need to do to keep our nation safe.
Let them do there job and be thankful they are out there.

The US has violated the borders of a sovereign nation. We would scream like crazy if another country did that to us.
