I'm about 14 weeks pregnant, and this indigestion and heartburn is killing me! I can't get relief whatsoever, it is literally almost constant. A lot of people said to take Tums but when I asked my doctor he said that wasn't advisable? Any suggestions?! Thanks!

I truthfully have been on your shoes, precisely. With this being pregnant, I had regular betas (increasing accurately) yet they did no longer see something interior the uterus for a at the same time as. They finally observed a small sac that became into empty and additionally a "mass" on my desirable factor via ultrasound. i ended up interior the ER through a pair recognizing and discomfort on my desirable factor. They have been worried it became into ectopic through my indicators. that's achieveable to have an empty sac interior the uterus and nevertheless have an ectopic. that's called a pseudo-sac. i ended up in emergency surgical treatment that night. seems it became into no longer ectopic and the "mass" became into basically a complicated cyst, which isn't basically regular, yet mandatory in the time of being pregnant. some days after the surgical treatment, I went in for a stick to up and we observed a newborn with a heartbeat. i'm now 25 weeks. even nonetheless, I truthfully have additionally had a real ectopic. With that, the discomfort became right into a lot greater extreme, I had brown recognizing and my hcg stages rose, yet basically somewhat. It became into glaring it became into no longer a achievable being pregnant. in the event that they are following your heavily with bloodwork and scans, i think of you will desire to attend it out. that's achieveable that toddler and heartbeat will take place in some greater days. i understand firsthand, it may happen. on the different hand, be very attentive to any discomfort on your aspects or shoulders and record this or any bleeding/recognizing today to your surgeon. Ectopics could be existence threatening. I wish you all the main suitable and am hoping for a great effect for you!
I have tried just about everything for heartburn/acid reflux, it seems to be horribly worse in pregnancy. I didn't want to take any medications while pregnant because I am awful at remembering, but I broke down and my doctor gave me Prevacid and told me to take TUMS, which is safe during pregnancy, IDK why your doctor told you not to... Anyways, try to avoid milk if you have acid problems, it makes you sick and usually will make things a lot worse. Hope you feel better soon
i completely sympathize with you girly, i posted this question last night i was in unbearable pain! i was being sick through the indigestion. ive been trying gaviscon (which doctor prescribed) glass of milk, sitting up straight as i find lying down triggers it, some of the ladies have mentioned cheese, garlic and acidey drinks like orange juice sets it off, so im going to cut out some of these and see what works. its awful, also go back to the doctor and see what he actually does advise. hopefully we will find some relief soon x
im 6 months pregnant and i had horrible indigestion and heartburn as well. my doc gave me Zantac 150mg one in the morning and one at night. havent had heartburn or indigestion since! they work great!
I've been pregnant twice and had to see 4 doctors total (long story) all of them recommended Tums...I've never heard any different so I don't know why your doctor claimed it to be bad.
Try milk or something starchy like crackers. If that doesn't help sucking on peppermint might help.
i take tums, even the extra strength tums..i dont know why it wouldn't be ok,my baby is perfect..also i drink a little milk and that really helps.good luck..cuz man i do know how much heartburn hurts =(
Tums is just calcium which is good for you during pregnancy. If your doctor is saying its bad for you during pregnancy, I'd be looking for another doctor.
peppermint cordial helps with heartburn and can be used when pregnant. Not so sure on what other things you can use though x
Figure out what it is that triggers the heartburn and cut it out of your diet for a while.
