Ok so i asked a question earlier about putting a floyd rose on my epi les paul. then i read some articles saying you cant really install one on a les paul cause the body isnt made for an aftermarket one. and it takes alot of the tone and sustain out. Im thinking about a bigsby now. I saw some models that just screw on, not much or no drilling at all.
For anybody that has one, how much can you use the bar without going out of tune much? I wouldnt go up or down more than a whole step.
Which model is good to get?
I really want some kind of tremolo/vibrato bridge without having to buy a new guitar cause i really like mine so far.
Thanks!

They make different designs for arch top Les Pauls or the Flat top Gibsons like SG's or LP Jr's.
If you can afford one, look at the Stetsbar instead.

You'd want the stop bar model. A nickel plated one is $219.
You just slap that sucker on, It mounts right in the holes of the stop bar of the Gibson/epiphone.
I think it will give you a much better tremolo than a Bigsby.
I've never much liked the action of a Bigsby tremolo. You can't really get after it like you can a Floyd rose or Strat style trem.
The Stetsbar looks really nice.
One thing about both a Bigsby or the Stetsbar is they are better than the FR, Edge or Strat trems, in that they are not spring tremolos where the springs in the cavity balance against string tension.
They should return to null position more accurately. As long as you have good tuners, it won't go out of tune as much.

Hey, I put a Bigsby B7 right into my Les Paul. It was Gibson though, I think it will fit on the Epi though. Good luck!
