okay well i'm planning on getting birth control i'm 16 and i want to get the shot because that one works best for me because of how effective it is. well i'm wondering do you need to get a pap test even though your a virgin? and do i need to get a physical also? please help i need to know ahead of time please and thank you<3

you will need a general physical to make sure you will not have any negative side effects to the medicine like high blood pressure and risk of stroke. also you should get a pap just cuz that is a healthy physical to make sure you have no cancers or any other problems in that general area. some birth control methods can cause cancers so it is best and prob required to get an exam. you should try the "pill" first it is the most effective when taken properly with less known side effects just to see how your body reacts to the medicine. talk to your doctor and dont feel embarrassed because the doctor would know better than any stranger here on the www. using condoms with another birth control method would be your safest from pregnancy and STDs. Absence from sexual intercourse is the only 100% method.
