I would suggest the BS in Computer Science. Computer Science is a "wider" field and will include education in a variety of different computer topics to include game programming. If you find that your true interest is in gaming, you may be able to pick up a minor in game programming or take a lot of elective courses in this field to gain a better knowledge of the subject.
Almost any computer programming position will accept a person who has a degree in computer science, but if you decide that you really want to work on something outside of game programming, you may find it more difficult for a company to accept your visual game programming degree as a "general" computer degree, as it is so specialized.
Go with your instinct though! If you are dead set on becoming a game programmer, the BS in Visual Game Programming may be better for you. Good luck!
