My sister saw that i have the high calcium cricket food and said she calcium supplements for her bearded dragon and wondered if my rose hair tarantula could use it. Could she? And if so, how do i ge it to her?
Do NOT add these supplements to tarantula food. They are invertebrates and do not need the extra calcium. Too much could actually hurt them. If you want to do anything feed the crickets a high PROTEIN diet to gutload them right before feeding them off such as a dye-free cat food. Tarantulas LOVE roaches, which make a far better diet than crickets as a main food, but offering different foods is good such as mealworms, waxworms, etc. Dubia roaches are VERY easy to keep and breed for tarantula food, so you might consider getting a colony. I feed my T's mainly roaches, and crickets or worms are a treat.
