ok so a couple days ago,, I thought the baby had dropped ( i'm 33 wks) then today he seems to be back up. Can a baby undrop??? or was he just not really dropped at all,, and maybe just in a different position? I never carried high enough with my girls for them to drop. So I am all kinds of confused.
Update:PS the baby is still breech by the way,,

During my last pregnancy my son did this all the time. One minute he was very low and the next it felt like he was between my breasts. He did this during my delivery too and didn't drop down and stay down until like an hour before being born. So yes it does happen.
"dropped" means, the baby's head is engaged at the beginning of your birth canal. And no, if that's the case, he cannot "undrop".
Just because he moved lower, doesn't mean he technically dropped. He is probably still shifting around. My OB told me that the baby position usually means nothing until 36 weeks (and they rarely actually "drop" before then!)
at 33 weeks the baby is just finishing switching positions. His head should be at the bottom now. It's getting a little tight in there at that point.
as long as they are only about 2 or 3 fifths engaged, they can still come free again, although once they go down, they usually stay there. it's not your first baby, so he probably won't drop until you go into labour though, 33 weeks sounds far too early. he might just like lying quite low. good luck.
As far as I know, once the baby drops, they only go down from there...I would bet your baby was just in a different position.
