I want to street perform but have no way of powering my piano or microphone.. Would a car battery be enough to power a guitar amplifier? I would buy a car battery home charger and recharge the car battery daily for street performance.. Is this a good idea? Any insight would be great?
Update:also, is there any way I'll blow up my amplifier with the wrong voltage/watts/amps?? idk..
Update 3:I also remember my dad telling me once that car batteries loose their juice if you let them die? Is this true?

You would need a deep cycle marine battery, recharger & an ac/dc converter. You would also need some sort of pedistol to place the battery on as you never ever want the battery to rest on the ground.
Pedistol should be wood. Battery on ground gets discharged & dies faster
The converter changes the 12 volt battery to 120 volt, same as in your house
A) check the identification tag on the guitarr amp to peer the present draw at a hundred and ten Volts A/C, or what it attracts from the wall outlet. B) Take this quantity, like might be 6 amps, and advert 20% for a buffer. You don't want to run matters at a full 100% load now do ya? So, say possibly 10 amps then. C) find a pure sine wave inverter, or a modified sine wave inverter that takes your 12 volt vehicle DC battery voltage and converts it to the 110 volt A/C voltage you need to energy your Guitar amp. One can find them at automobile ingredients places and even on Ebay. Ensure the output potential is above (Or greater than) the a hundred% present draw you came up with in "B" above. D) hook-it-as much as the auto battery and away you go! Maintain in mind that you may need to ad a 2nd or 1/3 battery in Parallel so that you dont run the vehicle battery lifeless even as you enjoying that concert! The inverter will actually have a title plate on it as to how so much DC present (Amps) it is going to draw out of your car battery. Dont reverse the polarity on the auto battery hook-up, pink positive, otherwise you be buying a further inverter! For those who get a excellent inverter, you will have to now not hear any hum out of your amp, or the processing that the inverter is doing to make the a hundred and ten volts A/C out of your automobile battery DC. A scan would be wanted, or use the pure sin wave inverter, expectantly that must be clean. The inverter company should be in a position to help you out additionally. If you dont need to use an inverter and automobile batteries, good, its watching like a small Honda generator will probably be underneath the Christmas tree for you! Have fun, Mark
i had seen a guy jam out on his electric guitar from his car at a beach and car lot.ya a small amp but it was not loud but he did it.i am guessing he had rigged the wiring to the battery ,just like a car amp.my best bet for you is buy a small gas generator, that has plug in for your amp and even other stuff you can add to it..it ll last you for hours of power and jam out
