I want to know if someone was really in the military?
I am dating a guy and he said he was 11 bravo in basic and in his PDS but before he got deployed he got a SF contract 18 xray
But he asked me not to talk to his dad about anything in the military since his dad was also in the military and has PTSD.. and all the pictures Ive seen of him in the military are blurry or group pictures where I cant distinguish his face..
So Im quite skeptical and want to know if he's lying or not.
I dont wanna ask him for his DD 214 because I dont want him to think Im doubting him
Is there anywhere online or something that I can verify his service?

In the strictest sense of a decision analysis question: would the answer you found out change your decision about your relationship. I would imagine yes, it would. But if you two are serious, maybe he's just a wuss who is desperately trying to impress someone he feels is out of his league. But if he is like most who lie about military service he is a worm and it won't end well between you two.
I would approach with caution and express your concerns openly but with the utmost compassion. His response will give you clues to the truth.
Do you know someone who, without a doubt, did really serve? If you do, introduce this person to the guy.
If you've actually served, it's really easy to pick out the liars. This can be done simply by asking a few friendly, non-offensive probing questions.
No, you can't.
Go ahead and mention something about his being in the Army to his dad. PTSD doesn't make people explode. If he was dangerous he would be in a mental ward.
Even if you saw his DD214, you would not know to look for an RE code anyways to see why he was discharged. Simple ask the Father why his son got out. He may actually have been ex-military and got kicked out of the military.
