Hello, and to all football fans.
I'm from London, the south of, and feel when it comes to football, you may support who you feel deserves your support, not just your 'local team', i find that absolute rubbish. If you have a genuine love for any club, your already a supporter they say. But, i have a question which involves the two biggest citys of England. Manchester and London.
Now, i haven't been a "supporter" of any REAL club, but always spurred on United to win, because i've always felt love for them. But, in your view, would it make me right to do this? Would this, in your view, go against the guidlines of football, or are you a local man who sticks to their local team.
Thanks.

I thought thats where United fans come from?
Yeah, you support whatever team you support, no matter where you are from. I am Scottish, born in London and have lived in various countries. Since I can remember I have supported Liverpool. Is there anything wrong with that? No, because I watch every game I can, shout at the tv when we do shite and jump around the house like a madman even when we score into Brentford FC. What annoys me is when people say "I'm a (insert team here) fan, by the way what was the score yesterday?" Yeah lol, great supporter.
I would say that I have followed the fortunes of MAN UNITED since 1965. In 1968 I remember being allowed to stay up and watch the European cup final. Then the following yea... r I was lucky to see them in action against my home town EXETER CITY. How ironic all these years later they have both reached finals at Wembley . And what an honour in the first y ear of the new stadium.During the years between 1967 -1992 I took a lot of stick from LIVERPOOL, ARSENAL,NOTTS FOREST, supporters as we could win a few F.A.cups but could not win the league.W ho would have thought it would take 26 years to win it. Now the tables have changed under the magnificent leadership of Sir A lex Ferguson. May he continue for the foreseeable future and well done to all at Old T rafford
Some of the most passionate, crazy, diehard Manchster United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans live in African and Asian countries.
They live, breathe, eat, sleep their club football and when their team loses they enter into waves of serious depression.
Yet millions of these fans have never set foot outside their own cities in their nations, never mind coming to England and to the respective city their fave club resides.
Try telling THEM they can't support Liverpool, United, Chelsea or Arsenal.
go on.
so of course a Londoner can support United if he wants to.
who you adopt as your club isn't confined to your geographical location be it nationaly or internationaly.
Osama Bin Laden and Kevin Kostner are Saudi Arabian and American - yet are devout Gooners lol
^_^
oh w/e - 4 more points. gotta get em while this new rule of 'double your points' is here right folks ?
aren't I a sad b45tard ! ^_^
Generally you support a team that you generally enjoy "going" to watch, and most of the time support the team of your first ever football match, or your local team or your family team.
To be honest you can be a fan of Manchester United but unless you manage to go up to Manchester or to any of their games you won't technically be supporting the club, and you may get abuse shouted at you if your out and about in a Manchester United Shirt in certain parts of London like Fulham, yeah I started shouting at a Man utd fan literally round the corner from Stamford Bridge after we had played who'd just stepped outside his house and started bragging to me about Utd winning the league.
Yes.
You don't even have to set foot inside Old Trafford and you can still be a United fan or a fan of any club for that matter.
There are plenty of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans in Manchester too.
Ignore what people say, support who you want to support. It's nothing to do with them. I support the local team of where I grew up, but I don't think it matters if you don't. I'm sick and tired of people calling other people glory hunters. I don't know what business it is of their's at all.
I don't live on the same continent that Chelsea plays in, and I still support them. So go for it.
May I suggest the New England Revolution instead?
Why not? It doesn't matter. Don't let other people tell you who you can and can't support because of where you live.
If your a Londoner you should support a London club. Just my opinion and i know opinions are frowned upon on Y!A so go ahead TD me.
