I started a vegetarian diet about a month ago when I moved away to college. Now I get headaches all of the time, I'm constantly tired, despite sleeping long hours, and I have no energy. Could the diet be causing this, and how do I fix it?

Yes, I 'm sure this is no doubt from becoming a vegetarian. I became a vegetarian two years ago and that first month was awful. I was an athlete so I was constantly weak and sick feeling because I didn't have substantial amounts of protein and iron. You must take a multi vitamin and eat a lot of soy products that provide protein. I actually had to give up being a vegetarian this past week. I loved it, but I was way too weak all the time, even with taking vitamins. It's a difficult lifestyle, but I must say that I feel much healthier eating meat now. I got to college a month ago, and the lack of soy protein here made me decide to eat meat again. If you're going to continue being a vegetarian be extremely cautious of everything you're eating to insure you are getting enough nutrients. It is difficult. Good luck.
You probably don't have enough protein. If you're a vegetarian, you have to eat a LOT to make up for the lack of meat.
Try eating protein bars or protein shakes, and see how you feel.
yep. that;s why vegetarians/vegans are encouraged to take vitamins, if you're dropping meat cold turkey your body will definitely notice the change and feel weak.. take some vitamins or have some protein shakes, bars, etc...good luck!
