can an apartment complex change rental rules? ok so we just got a new apartment manager and the rental rules have change, such as if ur rent is late after the 4th you would have to pay $230.00 for an eviction hold. I didn't sign anything new and that's not in the rental agreement. What can be done if this happens to me?

If the valuables administration has desperate to alter call or perhaps circulate possession they as an corporation could have pronounced the tenants in writing a minimum of a month in strengthen. call or possession replace would not happen over night. Their shortcoming should not be shouldered via the paying tenants, so on your case; they don't have a foundation to value you a late fee for the reason which you have initially issued a verify on time (besides the reality that it grew to become into made out to the previous handling company, yet who would have primary the replace of brand call in case you weren't pronounced first of all).
That is not a violation of your lease. Lease states rent is due the 1st. If you fail to pay the first then legally they can charge late fees. What you can do is NOT be late with rent and avoid the problem. Same as with Bank fees.
Go online and researrch renters law for your state and federal laws of fair housing ... then contact your local hud/fha state regulatory agency as well as state attourney general as to possible legal recourse against owners and manager ... get several willing neighbors to go with you to file a class action suit with the appropriate authorities thru a pro bono council .
READ the lease carefully
NO, they cannot impose new fees and penalties that are NOT in the lease
Pay your rent on time and in full, as you agreed to do when signing the lease
They can't enforce that if it is not in the lease.
Of course, I would pay mbrent on time!
Yes. Pay your rent on time, and it won't be a problem.
