Can energy drinks make your tongue peel?

I'd like to begin by stating that I brush my teeth twice a day, use mouthwash and floss at least once a week, and every time i brush I scrub my tongue too.

So, I have been up all night working on college stuff, and to keep me up I have been drinking monster ultra energy drinks. I've had 1 and 1/2 in the past 4 hours, but also 2 earlier in the day.

I noticed that my tongue was quit white at around 1am, so i brushed my teeth and tongue. Anyway, then I carried on for a few hours until a few minutes ago I felt something get caught between my teeth, checked in the mirror and my whole tongue is coated in a layer of thick, pure white dead skin that's peeling off, but it kind of hurts to peel. I brushed again and scrubbed and most of its gone except around the sides of my tongue theres thick layers that cant be removed.

I'm kind of worried now because this has never happened to me before. I havent eaten anything, just drank energy drinks and vaped, does anyone know what's up with my tongue, like why is it peeling and could it be the energy drinks?
