NO, NO and NO....It will NOT keep the guns out of criminal hands...They know how to get guns better than we do. (Black market is one way). Hey, look if someone wants to KILL someone they are going to do it. The cops will NOT do anything about it UNTIL IT IS DONE...Then they have to PROVE that he actually killed the person and find the gun. That is why a lot of murders do go UNSOLVED. Think of the O.J. Simpson case. Wasn't that an unfair trial and NO JUSTICE for the Brown family???? And they just had to let it go. That would be very difficult for me to do. But they had to. The only people who give a damn about gun control laws are law abiding citizens who don't commit gun crimes anyway. Criminals are already criminals, and don't care whether owning the gun they'reee about to use to rob a bank is illegal. If they cared, they wouldn't be about to rob the bank.

In my State, CA, the highest rates of armed robberies are in the cities with the toughest gun control laws. In San Francisco, for example, it is absolutely impossible for a liquor store owner to legally keep a gun in his store. People therefore drive over the bridge from surrounding areas where storekeepers often ARE armed in order to rob SF liquor stores, knowing that they are in no danger from an armed clerk.

It can't keep guns out of the hands of criminals completely, but...if guns were illegal to own in the US there would be more effective sentencing for firearms offences. And with more gun owners are in the tank, the number of offences would go down.

No. Criminals are going to continue to break the law even with stricter gun laws. The only thing you are preventing is a law biding citizen from defending their property.
