i'm going on vacation to cancun with a friend the last week of february, which is exactly 11 weeks away. i really want to lose 30 pounds by then (from 155 to 125). is this possible? and what would i need to do?

You can do it but it will take will power. Here's how I lost 30 lbs (from 175 to 145) in only two months:
I had the same things for breakfast and lunch every day - for breakfast one serving of Kashi cereal (measure the serving - it's smaller than you think) with half a cup of lowfat soymilk and one serving of fruit.
For lunch I used 1/2 cup of soymilk, a small banana and 1/2 cup of frozen fruit to make a smoothie, which I had with one serving of fresh veggies (usually carrots, celery or a plain salad with no dressing) and an unsalted rice cake with one tbsp (1/2 serving) of peanut butter spread on it.
For a midday snack I had another serving of fresh vegetables and a fat free yogurt.
For dinner I had a meal of no more than 300 calories - you can choose anything you like as long as it is no more than 300 calories - and ate nothing after 6 pm.
I also excercised for at least one hour each day - usually dance and weights first thing in the morning and a brisk walk or bike ride in the evening.
You should also drink no soda, milk or juice - nothing but water and plain, unsweetened tea (green tea is best). Drink at least a combined gallon of water and tea each day. The caffeine in the green tea will speed your metabolism a little.

Well, I do think it's possible but hard to do. I have lost 37 pounds in about 4 months on a low carb diet and working out about every day... Alternate weight resistance training and cardio for about an hour a day. A class at the gym called Kinesis was very helpful as well. Good luck! Even if you don't lose the 30, you'll get close and feel good too!
I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

It's possible but will be difficult. I personally would suggest going to a diet doctor and getting some Phentermine. I lost almost 50 lbs on it so far, and 30 came off within a few months. That's what worked for me, who knows, could work for you too.
I chose Phentermine because I had tried almost everything else and failed. I personally followed Weight Watchers to the very last stupid neurotic point and lost 9 lbs in 2 months, which disappointed me so much I quit (plus the points were making me neurotic).
Have you been watching Biggest Losers? It is possible to lose 30 with a good diet, no eating out, and a good exercise and plenty of water. Don't starve yourself. You might not lose 30 pounds but come close. Go to the biggest losers and see some of there recipes the food looks good and healthy. And every no and then you have to give yourself a treat. Good luck
A healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. Any more than that and you won't be able to maintain it and will find yourself gaining it back.

I think it's possible, but may not be healthy. Consulting your doctor would get you a better answer than some random people on Yahoo! Answers. You'd have to work really hard too. But make sure you ask your doctor first.
It's very possible. My boyfriend lost 70 pounds in merely two months. He was on Weight Watchers and worked out just about daily. Just as long as you dont fall to extremes, eat healthy and excercise to tone out flab, you should be fine.
But again, like I said, dont fall to extremes if you dont see results immediately
i think you should be happy with the way you look.but yes it is possible.just eat right and excersize three times a week.and if you have a craving for chocolate just take a small portion.for example instead of eating three chocolate bars,have low fat milk with one scoop of chocolate syrup.i hope this helps!
