So I want to get a coconut palm because I love coconut meat and water and I was wondering if I could plant one in Los Angeles (we live in the pacific palisades, a couple miles from the ocean) and expect it to give fruit in 7 or 8 years. If not, any info on how to grow it in a greenhouse or something would be helpful. And anything extra you may know would be appreciated too :)
BTW I know that there are palm trees here but there are a bunch of different palm species and each one is different. Only answer if you actually know about planting coconuts.
