Can I Sue A Title Loan Company?
I got a loan out for my car for $500 And paid it off early. I live in Missouri and my Tittle is a Kansas title. They told me that they sent it off and I would get it in the mail in a week or less. Its been 2 weeks and still nothing, They gave me a number to call for tracing the title in the mail. But when I call they tell me they haven't got one sent to them. They tell me the got the info when I first bought it and thats it. What can I do? Help Please I need to title my car soon.

So call the title loan company back. You need a title, not a lawsuit.

Well Actually yes you can sue them and I imagine you want to because you feel like you are getting no where but the fact is you have to ask "will this speed up the process" or slow it down. My guess is slow it down. If you paid it off there is no reason why they would want to hold onto it. So here is a better option for you...
1) Call them up and repeat that you did not get the title as promised. Ask them to sign over a letter of release on the title and a power of attorney to process a new title.
2) Contact the Kansas DMV and get the information on processing a new title via mail. I am sure they will tell you about step #1 above.
3) Once you get the new title, send a bill to the title loan lender for the title replacement cost. If you want to sue them for that amount if they don't pay then that sounds about right.
Finally, if they fail to act on anything you have a real good resource. All title loans lenders are regulated by their respective Department of Finance of the State they are located. One quick call to the guy who handles it is all you will need for some help.
