Can parakeets become depressed?

I have a female parakeet whom is about four years old. About four years ago, I got her along with a male of the same age. They got along extremely well. The male (Skyler) was very friendly and liked to receive attention. My female (Meghan) was and still is aggressive and prefers to be left alone.

About a year ago, I got another, a female named Nicki. Skyler and Nicki got along but Nicki and Meghan did not. Sadly, in June of last year, Skyler and Nicki both died of unknown causes. I work at a pet store that specializes in birds, so I went to my boss and she gave Meghan a check up and said that she was perfectly healthy. She's still healthy today, but she doesn't play with toys as much as she used to, she stares at her mirror almost all day, and after he first died, she kept calling out for Skyler.

She still chirps here and there when I'm playing music as if she's singing along and squawks when she's scared. She's eating normally too. I'm afraid that I leave her alone too much (both because I have a busy schedule and because she doesn't want human affection anyway). Could she be depressed? Is there any way to help her feel better and show her how much I love her? Would getting another parakeet help her loneliness? If so, male or female? Or would she just become even more aggressive? Help please! Thank you!
