i want a good jumping horse that is not to expensive. they don't have to be like washington potential but good enough to get to collage level equestrian. and can they do hunting. please give me info on this horse breed. thanks.
Paso Finos are gaited (I hope you know that) so it makes it difficult for them to compete in anything but competitive trail rides, saddleseat, or any against other Paso Finos.
All horses can jump. Paso Finos are breed for high stepping and a smooth ride. Not jumping. They are also expensive. I would say they would not be able to get you to the level you want. They also are a shorter breed. Sounds like you want something along the lines of 16h and built for the sport.
Try a thoroughbred who came off the track. So long as they are sound they make excellent jumpers. You can get them just about anywhere. Google OTTB.
The leg actions on a Paso tend to swing out as they move so even tho they can jump as most horses can they are not known to excell at it. Don't look for just a breed, look for conformation and way of going. A mixed breed can jump as well as a TB if he's built right and has the desire. You don't need registration papers to enter H/J shows. My daughter's college team horse was an arab 1/4 cross with a shot of TB and he jumps anything and hunted in the field like a pro.
Yes, all horses can jump, but some are better suited than others, if you want a jumping horse then go for a horse that suits specifically and i wouldn't imagine Paso Finos would be too cheap either.
You don't necessarily have to go for a specific breed either, crosses make excellent jumping horses too, for example sport horses.
Paso Fino's like all horses, can jump, just some do it better than others. It depends on the horses training I guess on how good they would be at jumping - you can have a horse who is naturally an amazing jumper and have a bad trainer ruin him.
I used to be using JJ this spring, and he used to be being the BIGGEST however on our little sand monitor in our pasture. We have been honestly using to it, and all of the sudden he freaks out! Im watching round and I see not anything out of the natural, then he does it once more and he whorls round once more and now im getting pissed. Soon I see our Cocker running across the facet people approximately 15ft clear of us. I used to be like OMG! ARE YOU SERIOUS HORSE!! Its a DOG that you've got been round because you have been BORN! Ya he saved spooking on the puppy and began bucking, bolting, being a doober! And ultimately he could stroll as much as the "rabid horse consuming puppy!!!" And then day after today he spooked at it once more day after today. Another used to be whilst I used to be using my gray gelding across the area and there used to be a ladder at the leaning up towards the external of the sector, and we were going via it for approximately 20 laps and BOOM! He jumped approximately 2ft within the air and approximately 10 toes facet methods to the middle of the sector. And we were going via it the entire time! It used to be humorous Ya Tango & Amber that's humorous! Spooking at a goat sneezing, my colt did that after whilst I sneezed rather loud in our tack room lol
