Can sudden inactivity cause a delay in my period?
I am a runner and recently had surgery, so I've spent the last month on the couch and I haven't gotten my period yet.

Yes. Actually, it's highly possible that the stress from the surgery is causing the delay, but even a sudden change in the exercise routine can cause havoc with the menstrual cycle.
Stress really does it--I even have problems with dramatic productions and 4-H shows messing my cycle! =P
